Dosage:

Small dogs - Half to one capsule a day

Large dogs - One or two capsules per day

Ingredients and what they do:

Choline:

Required for synthesis of the key neurotransmitter acetylcholine.
Vital for the building and maintenance of brain cell membranes.
In healthy cell membranes choline as phosphatidylcholine constitutes one third or so of the healthy cell membrane phospholipids so is very important in healthy cell structure.
In Alzheimer’s disease in humans the level of acetylcholine is very low.
When the brain does not get sufficient choline to manufacture acetylcholine it can resort to extracting it from nerve cell membranes, which in the long run badly damages the membranes which grow thick and scarred and more and more dysfunctional

DL-Methionine

Assists in the creation of complex organic compounds vital for healthy function of the body. These complex compounds are used for many purposes including brain function and detoxification.
Major contributor to the biochemical synthesis of choline.
Not fully understood but believed to have a positive effect on the function of certain neural transmitters such as serotonin, dopamine, noradrenaline and norepinephrine

Note:

Sometimes animals on a choline based regime will show signs of increased neurological activity such as hyperactivity, agitation or muscular twitching.
