  • Corticosteriods: increase renal calcium excretion & decrease intestinal calcium absorption (Lems 1998), reduce magnesium levels in serum and bone (Atkinson 1998), enhance potassium excretion (Stanton 1985), alter zinc metabolism and can cause depletion (Fontaine 1991)
