Trekking poles and hiking staffs are especially useful for country walks, lessening the load on the legs and knees. Trekking poles are sporty and youthful looking and Hiking Staffs are traditional and countrified.
A study conducted by Dr G Neureuther has shown that trekking poles reduce body weight carried by the legs by approx 5 kg every step on level ground and 8kg on hilly ground.

Trekking pole Autumn Gold - 4614C

Popular among hikers and ramblers, these lightweight, aluminium poles telescope into three sections. They are height adjustable between 80 and 156cm.
The handle may be held in two different ways: held on the top in the manner of a walking stick, or grasped around the neck as with a hiking staff.
The cord wristloop helps prevent accidental loss of the pole. The pole is fitted with a removable rubber ferrule over a metal spiked ferrule, so that the pole may be used on both hard and soft surfaces. Many walkers find that using one pole in each hand reduces the strain on the knee and ankle joints, especially if climbing over stiles or similar whilst carrying heavy rucksacks.
